Environmental concerned policies

The war consequences and social – economic development after the war have damaged the environment. Therefore, the Vietnamese Government has investigated natural resources and concerned the environmental issues.In 1985, with the support of IUCN, the draft national strategy for conservation was established with the contents as follows:

• Keeping ecosystems alive such as estuary ecosystem, fields, coastal zone and sea ecosystems, etc.
• Protecting gene sources.
• Using sustainably the renewable natural resources, improving the human living environment.
• Strengthening the international cooperation in the field of conservation in Viet Nam.

In 1988, the National Assembly and the Vietnamese Minister’s Council has issued several important documents such as Issueing the Law of Land, Health protection Law, Mineral Law, Forest protection Law.
